Funny Karangan

Saya ingin menceritakan pula tentang keluarga saya.
Bila dia habis mandi muka dia macam muka dia sendiri. Itulah kelebihan abang saya.
Seterusnya saya menceritakan tentang adik saya. Walaupun saya tidak ada adik tetapi saya tipu kamu dengan mengatakan bahawa saya ada adik.
Demikianlah cerita tentang keluarga saya bahagia walaupun sebenarnya tidak. Sekian harap maklum.

Funny Poem

Malaysia semua babi,
our government is so lousy,
make the college becomes no quality,
Chinese and Indian pun tak boleh masuk university.

It never had a choice for me,
because no money cannot study at oversea,
so I always feel i'm so pity.

Every college are greedy,
sini sana all need money,
their pocket kosong our perut noisy,
I am poor because there sucks my money.

Exam question full of difficulty,
it has a reason only,
which is to earn more money,
because we retake money masuk lagi.

The staffs always so aksi,
they did wrong never say sorry,
before asking please show your money,
otherwise they wont be happy,
we pay their salary still make us angry.
that's why i wanna study hard to earn more and more money

Tiap-Tiap hari feel so lazy,
never try to wake up early,
always hope college sekarang cuti,
everyday go to class feel so sleepy,
lecturer always scold me lazy.
do assignment just like to copy,
before the final just feel worry,
every nite study until crazy,
because scared scold by mummy.

Why my class always no pretty,
those elephant always show me how she's sexy,
the monster wanna treat me nicely, l
ike that i better mati.

my looking is **** ugly,
saya mari girl girl lari,
everyday date them they only say busy,
semua orang tak ada hati, make
me always so lonely, only can watch porno movie.

CS always let people bully,
maybe i am really so lousy,
althought knife people is so happy,
but i am always unlucky,
kena headshot easily,
after mati still mati.

This is just a small story,
typed it simply,
feel funny and happy,
actually i am not lonely,
because I have many friends around me.

~Cheers~

When Buying A High Definition TV, Don't Believe What You See In Showrooms By Vincent Teoh

As more people buy on the web, most people thinking about getting a high definition TV would rather visit a brick-and-mortar store than buy it through a web merchant. This is perfectly understandable, because you get the chance of seeing the high definition television with your own eyes, or getting help from a salesperson before parting with your money.

But things may not be what they seem... here I will give you a few reasons why your judgment of a high definition TV in showrooms may be inaccurate.

First of all, most high definition TVs on display are configured in what is termed in the industry as "dynamic mode". By this I mean that contrast is artificially inflated and the colors are deliberately over-saturated on the high definition television, as these manipulations have been proven to boost sales.

A HDTV that is displaying in "dynamic mode" gives an impression of "brightness" and "colorfulness", usually mistaken as the telltale signs of a good TV even though the picture is — in fact — incorrect. Usually it is only when you bring the TV back home that you realize the picture is not right.

Also, in a typical shop with quite a few HD TVs on show, the signal is shared among all these televisions. As a result each high definition television gets a weaker signal, which will result in a lot of artifacts like sparkles and horizontal lines, and perhaps blurriness and loss of detail.

To compound the problem, most stores will very likely use inferior connection cables (because these are much cheaper, and the stores likely have more than their fair share lying around over time) to pass on the signal. In an ideal situation one should use a HDMI, component, VGA or DVI connection because these deliver the best quality, and can fulfill all the potential of the high definition television for you to make an accurate judgment... yet you rarely see these used in normal demos unless requested.

Another issue with your average brick-and-mortar showroom is the excessive amount of ambient lighting, not only from in-store lights and the sun, but also from competing high definition TV unitson show. This will cause glare (especially on glossy televisions) and degrade the picture contrast on the HDTV you're looking at, leading to a washed out image. Most high definition TVs perform better in the home environment where there's better ambient light control.

To conclude, there are certain shortfalls when judging HDTVs in a shop — you're looking at uncalibrated display sets with weak signals in an overly bright environment. For correct judgment of a high definition TV's true potential, you can either visit a dedicated shop with the proper setup designed to eliminate these issues, listen to the views of existing owners on public forums, or read reviews that are carried out properly under strict conditions.

Unique Gift Ideas - 7 Ways to Customize An iPod Shuffle To Create The Perfect Gift by Danny Snyder

If you need a unique gift for someone special in your life, then pick up an iPod Shuffle. This extremely small mp3 player can be customized for an incredible personalized gift. If you want to give a gift that they will enjoy and will remember how thoughtful you are, then this gift is what you want to give.

Apple's little iPod Shuffle was totally redesigned in 2006. It became smaller at only 1.62 inches long. The biggest improvement is the integrated clip. This small mp3 player looks like a small colorful clip. You can clip it to your pocket, jacket, belt, or hat. And it only weighs about half a ounce. And that includes the rechargeable lithium battery.

Apple took a product that was small and improved it by making it smaller with an integrated clip. If you exercise, you'll put this on your must have list. It holds about 12 hours of music and has about 12 hours of battery life.

The iPod Shuffle is one present that is extremely versatile in how you can customize it for the receiver. Here are 7 ways to customize your Shuffle to create the perfect gift.

1. Give an iPod Shuffle in whatever color you want. Apple just rolled out a new set of colors. When they first released it, the Shuffle only came in silver. Now you can get one in pink, green, silver, blue, and orange.

Many people who already have an iPod are getting one of the new Shuffles because they are so small and easy to attach to your clothing. So give someone you love a little Shuffle in a lively color even if they already have an mp3 player.

2. To show your romantic side, you could give your loved one a list of songs that you both enjoy together. This will transform their iPod into a romantic Shuffle. When they grab their Shuffle, they will be taking with them the memories that you both have created.

3. If the recipient of your gift is an active person, consider filling their Shuffle with Rocky Balboa type songs that are upbeat and victorious. This will encourage them as they exercise.

4. Another customization is religious music for times when they want to focus on something bigger than themselves. For example, contemporary Christian music is such a big market that even large record labels, like Sony, have Christian music divisions. So you are sure to find something that would soothe their soul.

5. Fill their iPod Shuffle with songs that they would want to sing along with whenever the song is playing. These are usually upbeat popular songs that everyone has heard on the radio. For example, everyone has to sing along with Kool & The Gang when they sing Celebration. This music will give the receiver permission to express themselves with abandon. And that's a great way to relieve stress.

6. Give them oldies that they grew up on or oldies that they do not yet have in their collection. These types of songs can transport them into another time. It's almost like watching them go on a mental vacation back in time when they are listening to songs they grew up on.

7. You could load their new Shuffle with holiday songs. Use romantic songs for Valentine's Day. Patriotic songs will be easy to find for Independence Day. You can find some tunes that say thanks for Thanksgiving. And, of course, Christmas songs are the easiest to find. You could call this their Holiday Shuffle.

With all these ideas to ignite your imagination, you will easily be able to customize your gift of music. This gift has flare and incredible usefulness. Giving an iPod Shuffle that is personalized specifically for your recipient will make a unique gift for any occasion.

Rent Video Games Online- Saves Money And Convenient By Dale Williams

The ability to rent video games online and have them delivered to your home is great for video game players. Renting video games online is a great convenience, but the best thing about renting video games online is you can rent as many video games as you want, whenever you want and they are usually mailed to your home in a couple of days.

Why would you want to rent games instead of purchasing video games? Here are a few major reasons:

1.Rent at your convenience
2.Saves you money
3.Test video games before you decide to buy
4.No time limit on keeping the game

Convenience is almost a must in our life today. People are always looking for ways to save time and trouble. Online video game rental companies save you time and it is very easy getting video games. When you rent video games online they are delivered by mail to your home. With gas getting more expensive all the time you don't have to waste time and money going to your local video game store to find out the video game you wanted to rent are all rented out. Does this sound familiar? So why not just oder your video games from your computer?

It will also save you a lot of money on the cost of just renting video games. Most video game stores charge at least $5.00 dollars a video game rental. That could cost you a lot of money if you rented 2 or 3 video games a week. especially if you’re renting several different games a week. Most video game rental clubs like GameFly and Gottaplay memberships will give you a 10-day free trial and then the monthly fees or $12.95 to $22.95 per month for unlimited video game rental. If you rent 2 different video games a week at your neighborhood video game store that could run you up to $40.00 dollars a month compared to the maximum $22.95 a month with online video game rental. You save almost 50% a month.

Have you ever bought a video game and when you started playing it didn't like the game. You have two choices, keep it or go through the hassle of returning it to the store you bought it from and try to work out an exchange. Renting video games online allows you to play the video game first before you buy it. If you really like a game the online video game rental clubs will let you buy the game usually at a discounted rate.

With you monthly membership at an online video game rental club you can keep the games as long as you desire as long as you continue to be a paying member. You can take the time to play a game as long as you like or if you are easily bored with a game you can get 3 or 4 video game a week. You are in control of how long you want to keep a game. Buyers Guide To Video Game Consoles – Seven Vital Tips By Johnny Minkley

There is now a video games console to suit practically every need, taste and budget. But the range and diversity of gaming systems, never mind the games themselves is a daunting prospect to the uninitiated.

This guide - adapted from Johnny Minkley’s excellent overview of video game consoles at productsifter.com - will answer all your questions, and arm you with the information you need to make your purchase in confidence.

The raison d’etre of any games console is, fundamentally, gaming, notes Johnny. But today’s systems offer much more. Are you an online gamer? Are childrens’ games a priority? Want to take full advantage of that 50-inch flat-screen plasma TV? Or are you just looking for cheap hassle-free fun with friends and family?

Johnny, who has been using video game consoles for 20 years and writing about them for more than seven, concludes that:

Nintendo Wii is the best console for families

Nintendo DS Lite is the best handheld console

PlayStation 2 is the best budget console

Xbox 360 is the best console for online gaming

The new PlayStation 3 is the best high-definition video games console

Once you’ve decided what you want the console for and which one to get, where next? Here are the key things to keep in mind to buy a games console in complete confidence:

1. Watch out for worthless extras

Many shops offer bundle deals in addition to selling stand-alone consoles. Typically they throw a load of games in for “free”. While the savings can be substantial with such deals they can also be illusionary. Are the “free” games on offer actually worth having? If you are not careful you could end up spending more than you intended on games you will never play so check them out first.

2. Make sure all the essentials are included

Do not assume everything you need to get your console working will come in the box. Extras you may need to purchase separately may include additional handsets for multiplayer games; subscriptions for online gaming; and special cables which will boost the audio and visual performance of your unit.

3. Compare Prices

Retail competition in this market is fierce, so shop around for the best prices. Game (and to a lesser extend) console prices vary wildly from place to place, so doing research in advance and checking prices on-line makes sense. Unless you really need to buy the latest blockbuster on day of its release, wait a month or two - all games are reissued on budget labels and console prices also fall over time.

4. Duck and Dive

Staff at specialist computer games stores are much more likely to have expert knowledge than their equivalents at supermarkets and the like. But if the supermarket is cheaper, don’t be afraid to take advice from one place and buy in another. Also, consider asking the specialist store for a discount if you know the product is available for less elsewhere.

5. Read Expert Reviews

Don’t know your Halos from your Half-Lifes? Websites such as ProductSifter.com, Gamerankings.com and Metacritic.com all have excellent reviews and rankings for a wide range of video console and game products.

6. Test before you buy

Many games shops have in-store demo units, so you can take a game or a console for a test run before you buy. Remember, you can also rent video games or use online clubs like Swapgame.com to cut costs further.

7. Check the age ratings

Every video game should have an age rating. In Europe, the Pan-European Game Information standard is used. It is not legally binding, but offers a clear guide to parents about a game’s suitability for children. Also, any game featuring mature or realistic content is rated by the British Board of Film Classification. For more on this subject go to: AskAboutGames.com.

Profiting from Adsense By Gabriel Clyde

You've probably heard a lot about Google AdSense, but you may not know just what it is. Well, for one thing, it's a one of the hottest new ways to make money online without having to do a whole lot. If you've read Robert Kiyosaki's book, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", you know that passive income is the best kind of income to have.

You'll have to invest just a little bit of time in learning about it, but once you get it set up you can look forward to seeing those nice checks roll in. Or, if you're totally online, seeing money flow into your PayPal account.

Google AdSense is a fast and absolutely ridiculously easy way for people with websites of all types and sizes to put up and display relevant Google ads on the content pages of their site and earn money.

So what kind of ads do you have to put up? That's the good part. You don't have to decide. Google does it for you. AdSense always delivers relevant ads that are precisely targeted on a page-by-page basis to the content that people find on your site. For example, if you have a page that tells the story of your pet fish, Google will send you ads for that site that are for pet stores, fish food, fish bowls, aquariums. You get the picture.

Here's the thing you need to know: Google has no strict criteria for acceptance into the AdSense program, and Ad Sense doesn't hit you with a minimum traffic requirement. The only criteria they're really sticky about is the standard "acceptable content" requirements, and that's pretty standard almost anywhere.

Once you've been accepted into Google AdSense, you'll be able to get the AdSense advertisements on any site you own using the same ad code, provided you obey the Google guidelines. (And that's very, very important more on that later.)

It's easy to get started with AdSense and it only takes a few minutes. You fill out one single online application and that's it. Once you're approved, it takes only minutes to set up AdSense; all you have to do is copy and paste a designated block of HTML into the source code for your site. Once you do that, targeted ads will start showing up on your website and start watching those nice checks roll in.

While i can't guarantee results, of course, since a lot of your success lies in your own hands, i wouldn't have written this article if i didn't believe in the power of Google AdSense. A lot of webmasters are making a lot of money off of AdSense, and there's no reason you shouldn't be one of them.

To date, comparisons of AdWords rates with AdSense earnings add up to commissions of between 40% and 60%. People speculate all the time on user boards as to why Google refuses to publish its commission rates, but no one has the answer. It might have something to do with legal reasons or it could just be that Google wants to retain the ability to change rates without having to send out an announcement about it each time, which costs money.

5 Tips for Creating the Ideal Spa Gift Basket for Her by DR. GRACE CORNISH LIVINGSTONE

Did you know that retreat spas are the preferred vacation choice for many contemporary women? However, many do not have the immediate time nor the resources to indulge in a five-day, getaway in the mountains; therefore, what better way to unwind and enjoy being pampered, than to create a relaxing spa environment in your own home? You can create a wonderful spa basket for yourself or to give to a special woman in your life. The key thing to remember is the relaxing gift basket is to make her feel at ease, beautiful, and well-rested.

Why Create a Spa Basket?

The opportunity to relax completely is rare in our contemporary, faced-paced, and often stressful environments. With today’s busy lifestyle, women are in need of temporary escapes to relax and unwind from their overloaded schedules. Whether involved with a large corporation, a small business, working at home, volunteering for various charities, or directing the local PTA, today’s woman is in search of balance. A delightful balance that uplifts her spirit, enhances her mind, and pampers her body. She deserves to enjoy the fruits of her labor by carving out some private time where she can simply unwind and enjoy precious moments in time. Here are some helpful tips for creating the perfect relaxing gift basket for yourself, your spouse, girlfriend, mother, sister, co-worker, or any other important woman in your life:

Helpful Hints:

1. Visual Appeal

Women appreciate things which are beautiful, pretty, romantic, and clean looking. The eyes are the window to the soul. Make sure that her gift basket appeals to her aesthetically. To ensure this, start with a nice container, whether white or natural wicker, a chrome basket, floral planter, or silver wire basket, and arrange pampering spa products inside in a strategically balanced manner that makes it pleasing to eyes.

2. Delightful Aromas.

Aromatherapy is the art of appealing to one’s sense of smelling. Pleasant scents will invigorate her spirit as she relaxes her body under a warm shower or cozies up in a fragrant bath of lavender, raspberry, jasmine, or white gardenia. Be sure that your gift basket for her includes scented bath and shower gels, moisturizing lotions, and other spa products that will infuse pleasant aromas. Whether you choose a light floral rose fragrance, or a berry scented undertone, the pleasing aroma will disperse into the air and set a delightful tranquil atmosphere, which she will thoroughly enjoy while relaxing.

3. Luxurious Products.

Adding the right mixture of pampering body and facial products to her bath/spa gift basket can turn an ordinary bathroom into a tropical island paradise. Be sure to add foaming bubble baths, lathering shower gels, body soaps, body scrubs, moisturizing lotions, and fragrant bath oils beads. To spoil her from head to toe, you can include a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and for her pedicure needs, you can add a wooden pedicure brush, soothing Peppermint foot lotion, and cooling foot wash.

4. Delightful Indulgences.

To help her indulge in the ultimate spa experience, you can add a wooden bath brush, terry cloth bath pillow, terry cloth head-band, and terry cloth slippers. She will be delighted if you go the extra mile and add a plush terry cloth robe. For an added surprise, be sure to include a gel hot or cold eye mask, a bath sponge, and a bath loofah. The loofah is an excellent skin massager and exfoliator. Originating from some of the most luxurious spas in Europe, the loofah stimulates healthy circulation to the skin’s surface and removes dirt and dead cells with its tiny fibers. As it smooths and softens the rough skin of elbows and knees, it also helps to prevent clogging of the pores.

5. The Final Touches.

To put the finishing touches on creating the spa atmosphere, you can help her to set the tone by including candles in the relaxing gift basket for her. You can simply add two pillar candles of any soft shade or create a candle garden with over a dozen assorted candles in shades of lavender, plum, ivory, cream, or whatever palette you choose. If you would like to tantalize her taste buds while she relaxes, then adorn her gift basket with a sampling of chocolates and truffles. She will truly appreciate you for giving her such a delightful, special, and thoughtful gift.

Every contemporary woman deserves to have an enjoyable and relaxing spa experience at her fingertips to help her unwind from a hectic day or to set the mood for a romantic evening. She will thank you for the youthful glow of her radiant skin resulting from her at home-spa experience.

Dog Behavior Training to Stop Your Puppy Chewing Everything in Sight by JOHN WILLIAMS

Ok so its day one and you’ve just brought your new cute little puppy home for the first time, all the family love its little puppy paws running around in its new surrounding. The entire family are instantly addicted to playing with the dog and all want it to sleep with them that night.

Day two comes and everything seems just as happy and playful as the previous day, except today, the puppy is slightly more used to its surroundings and gnawing and chewing on everything seems to be the new game for your puppy.

So how do you stop your dog chewing, biting, and general all round shredding of everything their little mouths can get around? Simply telling your puppy to stop and removing him from the scene, although it might help in the long run slightly, is not going to help your furniture in the short term and they’ll be straight back chewing something else.

It takes time for your new puppy to grasp the idea of what they can and can't chew to bits, chewing and biting is quite normal for a puppy and is all part of the process of teething, chewing helps the puppy cope with the soreness of the initial six months or so and is essential for a growing pup.

Nothing is out of bounds for a teething puppy, consider everything a possibility for chewing. Dogs don’t know the difference between your best pair of shoes and a battered old chew toy so it’s your job to show them. From the very beginning you need to show them right from wrong so you don’t come up against the same problem when your little puppy isn’t so little any more.

Chew toys are a great dog toy so take full advantage of them while you still have furniture left in your living room. Show your puppy that its good to play with that toy by rewarding him with doggy treats or something you know he likes, put this toy in front of him and in his mouth as much as possible to encourage him to chew it.

You can't always be with your puppy so when you find you have to leave your puppy alone in the house it might be a good idea to close him in a puppy proof room with just the essentials and his new puppy chew toy, before long he’ll get used to chewing on the puppy toys and start to notice the difference in reception he gets from chewing your favourite magazine and the reward he gets for using his toy.

There is a lot more to training puppies and teaching your puppy not to chew on everything in sight, and it may take time and some patience before you get there but it’s a lot cheaper than buying a new living room and your puppy will grow into a much better trained dog because of it.

Save Money as a Dog Owner by SARAH RUSSELL

I am a dog person. I love the wagging tails, the licking tongues and the simple companionship that these pets provide. But I hate the way the expenses seem to pile up. First it?s the shots, the food, the toys and then the new carpeting I need after training a puppy. Despite all that, I could never give up on my furry friends ? nor could any other true dog lover that I know. Fortunately, cutting down on these pet-related expenses is easy with a few of the following tips.

If you?re thinking of getting a dog, one of your first major expenses will be shots and medications. Young dogs are required to have certain shots as they grow up, and these can be costly. If you?re adopting an older dog, you may need to purchase medication to treat existing conditions. Check with your local pet stores to see if they offer any special low cost vaccination clinics, which can save you a lot of money. These events can charge lower rates because they don?t have all the extra overhead associated with a full veterinary office.

You?ll also want to check with your local government to see if they offer any pet-related services. Some cities and counties offer low cost vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures that you can take advantage of. Since these procedures lead to fewer unwanted, unhealthy pets being born, the city benefits by cutting down on animal control and sheltering expenses. You benefit by saving lots of money on the same exact procedure that would be done at a veterinary clinic.

If you find that your pet needs medication, you?ll get a better deal ordering them online from a discount store. You can find basic pet medications like flea and heartworm drugs at companies like 1800petmeds.com, which offer the same products at lower prices. You?ll still need a prescription to order certain products online, but your veterinarian is required by law to give you a valid prescription that you can use anywhere to purchase needed medications. Just fax it to the online retailer and you?ll be all set.

Pet food is another necessity to keep in mind. Hopefully, you?ll wind up with a dog that will eat anything in sight ? not a picky eater whose taste buds will tolerate only the finest in doggy cuisine. Whatever food you purchase, try to get it in as large a quantity as you can. You?ll save more money by purchasing in bulk than buying tiny ten pound bags each week. If you?ve got a picky pooch, check with your local feed stores or farmer?s supply stores ? you may be able to find specialty brands at lower prices.

If you?re a pet owner on a budget, indulging in doggy day care, pet spas or any of the other chic pet establishments that have recently popped up is probably out of the question. If your dog is too big to be washed at home, check with your local pet store to see if they have a pet washing station with bigger wash tubs and longer hoses. And if you crave a dog-free day of doggy day care services, why not pair up with a fellow dog owner? One week, you drop off your dog at a friend?s house for the day and then return the favor the next week. You?ll both get a little break without breaking the bank.

Always keep your eyes out for pet store discounts in your newspaper and coupon circulars, and watch your local pet stores for clearance sales. You might be able to get that fancy toy you?ve been eyeing at a substantial discount. And keep in mind that the things pets love most aren?t necessarily store bought toys. My dog is never happier than when he?s chewing on a homemade tug toy made from heavy duty rope found at the hardware store. So don?t let the expenses of pet ownership scare you off ? you can share your life with man?s best friend without going broke.

Buying A Dog Bed - Key Points To Consider by LEO STANLEY

Your dog is like a member of the family. And, as such, you want to ensure your dog’s health, safety and comfort. If your dog is like most, he/she spends a large portion of the day sleeping. Therefore, it is easy to understand why the proper dog bed can make such an important impact on your dog’s quality of life.
The various types of dog beds run the gamut. They vary in size, shape, design and material. A bed can be a simple mat or an elaborately-embellished plush cushion. Still, some fancier bed designs look like, well, real beds!

Before you purchase a bed for your best friend, there are a number of factors to consider. They include:

Size of Your Dog

While taking into account the size of your dog may seem quite obvious, it may be overlooked when browsing through so many different fun-looking and novel bed designs. However, it is important to remember that the size of your dog is the number one factor in choosing the proper bed.

In addition, to his/her size, consider the sleeping position of your dog. Does your dog sleep in a curled position or is he/she a “sprawler,” sleeping fully stretched out with legs in all directions? A bolster bed, an oval-shaped bed with raised sides, may be ideal for a “cuddler” but unsuitable for a dog that likes to stretch out. Know that the bed should be at least slightly larger than the size of your dog in his/her normal sleeping position.

Remember to also consider the height of your dog. A number of bed designs are raised off of the floor, either for functional purposes or merely for appearances. In either case, a bed that might provide easy access for a Great Dane may prove to be quite a struggle for a short-legged Dachshund or a young pup.

Also, take into account whether your dog is a growing pup or fully grown. If your dog is a puppy, you may what to purchase a bed that is suitable for today but will provide comfort as your dog matures. However, please keep in mind, that it may not be possible for a particular bed to be suitable for all stages of your dog’s life. As your dog grows and ages, bedding needs often change.

Age and Health of Your Dog

A super plush bed that would be cozy for a young pup in which to snuggle may be too soft for an older dog that has arthritis or other joint or muscle aliments. A bed that is too soft may be a struggle for an older dog to get in and out. An orthopedic bed, one that provides a soft cushion to rest ailing joints but also provides support, may be preferred for older dogs.

Temperature or Seasonal Conditions

Depending upon the temperature of your home, older, short-haired or smaller dogs might find greater comfort with a heated bed. Some beds feature a built-in heating element, similar to an electric blanket. Other beds simply use special materials and physical design to take advantage of the warmth naturally generated by the dog to provide a warmer sleeping environment.

Conversely, long-haired dogs or those accustomed to colder climates may find a bed that provides for a cooler sleeping arrangement more desirable. Mechanical features or simply cooler coverings can provide some dogs with relief. Some mats and cushions serve a duel purpose by offering a fleece-lining on one side and a cooler fabric covering on the reverse side.

Easy of Care

If your dog enjoys the outdoors, he/she may track some of the outdoors indoors. If so, dirt, grass and, possibly, insects will find their way into your dog’s bed. Having a bed with a removable and washable cover will be quite convenient.

Even if your dog is primarily an inside dog, you may want to consider the merits of a washable cover if he/she sheds excessively. Being able to quickly and easily remove grime and dog hair from your pooch’s sleep quarters will go a long way to making the area more visually attractive, smell better and improve your dog’s overall health.

Coordinating Home Decor

Give consideration as to where the bed will be located in your home. Finding a comfortable bed for your best friend doesn’t mean the aesthetics of your home have to suffer. The style and design of dog beds have come a long way. A dog bed no longer has to be an eye-sore. It can be a well-coordinated accent piece, one that highlights your sense of style. Select a color and design of bed that will compliment the other furnishings and décor of the room, as well as be pleasing to your pooch.

In conclusion, just a little bit of consideration in the shopping process will go a long way in finding a dog bed that both you and your dog will love.

How to Pack for a Backpacking Trip by DAVID CAMP

Learning how to pack for a backpacking trip is the key to a rewarding and enjoyable hike.

Over pack and you risk fatigue setting in as your energy and enjoyment of the hike drains out; under pack and you may find yourself without essential items. Although experience is going to serve as your best teacher, here are a few things to consider when preparing your pack.

How you pack your pack is always going to depend on 4 factors - the length of your trip, the weather, the location of your hike, and your own personal preferences.

The best way to pack for a backpacking trip is to make a list, check it twice and then check it again before ever putting anything into your pack.

Section the list into things you “will need” and things you “may need”.

When purchasing and packing, keep in mind each item’s weight, and always choose gear that provides a dependable balance of durability, flexibility and weight.

How to Pack for a Backpacking Trip: Clothing

Clothing is always going to depend on the climate and your personal preferences. All experts recommend that you stay away from cottons when possible, break in your boots before the hike begins, and buy heavy wool or synthetic socks to protect your feet. Aside from the clothes on your back, we recommend that you also pack a waterproof windbreaker to keep you dry when it rains and a bandanna, great to block the sun and for emergencies.

How to Pack for a Backpacking Trip: Food

Freeze dried meals provide the nutrients and energy your body needs, without the weight and clumsiness of other types of packaging like cans. Pack enough for your planned trip, and then add a meal or two in case an emergency arises. For cooking, take along utensils and one titanium or aluminum pot that have a non-stick surface, a handle and that is large enough to prepare your meal.

How to Pack for a Backpacking Trip: Water

By having sufficient water for your backpacking trip you can prevent unnecessary dehydration during your hike. Plan your water supply according to the mapped locations of the natural and man made water sources found along the trail. And don’t forget water purification tablets for natural water no matter how clear it may appear.

How to Pack for a Backpacking Trip: Gear

Essential gear for your backpacking trip should include a hand-held flashlight, as well as one that does not require holding (use your head instead), fire starters and tinder, a sleeping bag, tent, map, compass, a knife, and a few plastic bags for wet clothing and garbage. Emergency gear should include a whistle, signal mirror, insect repellent, a cell phone and a first-aid kit.

Useful things to remember when packing for a backpacking trip:

When packing, it’s best to use a backpack that is up to the task of your trip. It should have straps for your poles and a place for your tent equipment. Place heavy gear, such as your cooking supplies, and less needed items toward the bottom of the bag, and keep frequently used smaller items (like your compass) inside your pockets.

Always plan ahead before venturing out on your backpacking trip, no matter how long you plan to be out. The time spent making sure that your pack is light and yet ready for any situation will set the foundation for an enjoyable backpacking experience.
