Self-Care
- Proper brushing and flossing is essential. If you have braces, clean them properly.
- Rinse or gargle your mouth with plain water after eating.
- Brush your tongue, especially towards the back to remove dead cells, bacteria and food debris.
- Stay hydrated. Drink water throughout the day to keep mouth moist. Coffee and alcohol don't count! You can stimulate saliva production by chewing gum!
- Eat regular meals to keep breath fresh. Try not to eat foods that cause bad breath.
- Chew on parsley or mint before and after eating to get rid of post-meal bad breath.
- See your dentist regularly. You should have your teeth examined and cleaned by your dentist at least twice a year.
